As stated earlier I have had numerous roles within the Housing Service of which I have thoroughly enjoyed as no two days were ever the same.
My career started in 1995 as a Skillseeker in the Pitlochry Housing Office and since then as my experience grew I held various positions Rent Collector/Clerical Assistant, Senior Clerical Assistant and when Pullar House opened in 2000 I was appointed the face of Council as I was headhunted to head up the reception where I was given an award for outstanding achievement on the frontline. I was fortunate enough to cover a maternity leave in the Allocation Team and in my last role I was fortunate enough to be able to shadow the Officer for North Morton and cover her holidays/sickness absences
I am a fully qualified Early Years and Childhood Practitioner based at Glenearn Community Campus. I,am a committed individual where I deliver high quality experiences from children aged 2-5. I am responsible for 8 key children. To do the best in my job I keep up to date with relevant legislation processes and procedures, ensuring high standards are maintained. I daily communicate to my parents/carers either face to face or by Learning Journals. Learning Journals is an external app which allows me to post information and to capture the children's learning. This allows me to effectively build relationships with them and other internal/external agencies for example Speech and Language Therapist, Social Workers, Health Visitors.
To ensure a high quality provision I am required to have excellent organisational skills to plan, prioritise and schedule work to contribute to the needs of the nursery. I am fortunate to have the ability to access, create and implement appropriate interventions for the wellbeing and learning for all of the children. I attend a fortnightly planning meeting to organise and manage a range of appropriate activities, resources and provocations to meet the children's needs and to improve outcomes. I observe, record and share and report any changes, ensuring information is kept up to date. I operate and organise and maintain main relevant Microsoft Systems
I held numerous positions within the Housing Service prior to me changing my career in 2019.
In my last role within the Housing Service I was administrative support more commonly known as a Housing Assistant for the locality Housing Officer for the North Muirton area with approximately 500 households. I really enjoyed this position as every day was different. I provided accurate information advice to tenants and service users in a variety remaining professional at all times - face to face, telephone and email enquiries. I helped these individuals in a variety of subjects to help them sustain their tenancy -rent arrears, general housing repairs, housing benefit enquiries (inc completions of eclaims) housing allocation enquiries. I had to remain calm, listen carefully and be non judgemental in my approach. Many of the people who contacted the service were individual/families were extremely vulnerable somi displayed - compassion, empathy and understanding.
I always ensure to maintain a high level of customer care in my work I maintain consistent time management skills by adhering to deadlines I value the importance of communication within any team i have worked in to ensure that we all,have the knowledge to do our jobs effectively I have experience dealing with and confidential information I pay attention to detail, methodical discreet and able to prioritise my work efficiently to manage conflicting demands and changes within my work environment I have a calm disposition and steady manner when faced with a challenge and always maintain a high standard of work in busy circumstance I am able to cope under pressure and I am always ready to offer, help, assistance and offer solutions to problems when they arise I take pride in all that do and enjoy building relationships with members of staff I always remain professional in all situations and communicate in a positive, open and honest way I have good experience using oral and written communication where I promote a professional image and the service I work for
