About me -
My name is Sutherland Reiff Macleod. Currently I am in part-time work in Scotland but looking to travel and experience the world abroad. My personal hobbies include travelling, hiking, climbing, swimming, kayaking, surfing, snowboarding and many more. I am always looking for new opportunities to try new things and challenge or push myself in difficult or new environments.
For the last 4 months I have been doing some causal work for a business run by a family friend on the outskirts of Inverness. This work has ranged from full garden do overs. Including the removal and reshaping of plants, shrubs and trees, basic gardening tasks and slight tree pruning and removal. This work has completely transformed areas of property which most people gave up on, into lovely open spaces, to the exact specifications of the customers desires. Whilst also achieving meticulous attention to detail of all the tasks we undergo .
I am currently working at the Marriott Airport in Inverness. I have been working here so far for around 1 year now doing a combination of work. I have done work as a F&B assistant which has included waiter like roles of running food effectively and efficiently, taking orders from customers in a polite manor, warmly greeting customers and taking reservations with online booking systems. But mainly and most importantly I'm currently doing a lot of the work at our bar. Anything from pouring pints and wines to crafting new and fresh cocktails. I'm looking at getting my own personal bar-tending licence in the weeks following my 18th with is on the 10th of March. During my time working here I have learned and developed better communication skills while working in a large and diverse group of staff members. I also improved my professional demeanour and organisational skills behind the bar during peak hours in summer and rushes from cancelled flights. Whilst being able to ensure smooth operations and effectiveness at my job.
For one year I was our villages paper boy. This entailed waking up early every day prior to school and running the papers productively around the village. Hail, rain or shine. Although it was mainly raining most of the time.
I learned to have very good time keeping skills and problem solving from this role. As often due to weather in winter there were delivery issues or delays, and i would be the one to solve or fix these issues in any way shape or form. I also had to be very respectful and thoughtful of many of our customers needs, as several were elderly and had special requests in the way the papers were delivered at such an early time in the morning.
If you would like to know anything else or more information surrounding myself please feel free to reach out and ask anything you would like.
