  • My journey with Oracle started in 2010 when Phase Forward was acquired by Oracle
  • I started at Phase Forward in 2004 as Production services engineer
  • I was then made team leader and few years later made manager of UK shift
  • I have direct reports which I manage and work with
  • My job role within AMS is supporting clinical trials, investigating any escalations from customer, general house keeping of servers and responding to OEM alerts
  • I also work closely with GOC and have to respond immediately to any major incident that is escalated
  • This can be anything from single server outage to major outage within data center
  • I am POC for AMS for major incidents so this involves joining calls to help resolve and restore product, notifying customer and help with RCA
  • This also includes weekends and bank holidays

  • This involves providing users with front line application support, maintaining and updating all hardware and software with new releases having tested them prior to live use
  • I also maintain TCP/IP network which has 70 plus users
  • My job also requires close monitoring of all costs for mobile phones and land lines where I have had recent success in reducing cost of mobile phones
  • This was achieved by comparing cost of several providers and restructuring contract with most cost efficient provider
  • This provided company saving of £5,000 per annum
  • I enjoy day to day contact with users and get satisfaction by helping to provide tools needed to do their jobs
