Volunteer Experience

I have been a volunteer at The Sanctuary for just over a year now. My duties Have included

Feeding the donkeys at the required times, this would also include any donkeys that are on special diets or have different feed due to health issues.

Grooming / bathing and hoof picking and reporting any skin concerns along the way

Working alongside permanent staff and taking guidance if unsure.

assisting the public if possible with answers to questions, if unable to answer, seek out a permanent member of the team who can help.

Mucking out areas and laying fresh straw/ hay and disposing of it in the correct way.

Weighing and recording the correct weights and reporting any concerns with weigh drops/ gain to management.

keeping work spaces as safe as possible and return equ to its rightful place.
