Summary

I have been a practicing advocate for fourteen years now. I have done this within several roles, Caseworker/Community mental health/Non instructed mental health/ Independent Mental Health (IMHA). I am also a qualified CITY and Guilds Assessor (TAQA) and have provided the training in the advocacy qualification in my current organisation, to many other advocates.

I am currently also self employed as a Pottery Tutor, providing sessions in a local studio.

I am a confident communicator. In all my previous and current roles this has been an essential skill. I am approachable and friendly and am told that I am always easy to be around, putting people at ease, and always making them feel important, and listened to, while providing personally tailored support, taking account of any personal needs/abilities/difficulties each individual may have.

I am always keen to learn, new skills, new legislation, new ways of operating, and would be open to a whole new direction in my career.

I am looking for a new challenge, something I can invest all my skills and passion into. I am driven by making a positive change in others lives, whether that be through teaching them a new skill with my teaching, or by challenging those in charge of their care to ensure they are being treated fairly and appropriately.

I am happy to work under my own steam, fulfilling my role in a peripatetic way, or hybrid working ideally, but am a team player, so am open to all possibilties.
