• Trained to be a driving instructor, a job l could fit in round the family. Who says you cant teach old dogs new tricks!
• Most appealing thing is no two lessons are the same. Every person l teach is an individual, with different learning & coping abilities. Learning to drive can be very scary, something an experienced driver forgets.
• For the first nine years l sourced my own contacts and worked with twenty two different pupils a week. I always had a waiting list which was lovely.
• I then divorced and moved to Westbourne where l started doing intensive car driving courses for the army based out of Blandford Camp. They have a fortnightly course to learn how to drive and pass their driving test
• I do not panic, l have total empathy with pupils and my brain can problem solve at 60mph, if required!

• Part time job in evening & weekends whilst husband was off work
• This was when Internet shopping was first introduced
• Luckily l knew that mincemeat wasnt to be found on the meat counter & l had some knowledge of alcohol which was needed when the bottle requested was unavailable & alternative had to be given. This made me popular with other staff who hadn't got a clue!

Norman Hardys was the London sales office for a group of sixteen printers.

My job was to visit editors and publishers of regular magazines and show them the benefits of printing their publications outside the City. This was before the Internet was a thing!

Once the contract was given l had to liaise between client and printer, caring and problem solving under strict deadlines was something l enjoyed

Apart from wining and dining the clients there was a fair amount of long distance travelling all over the UK and Holland.

I absolutely loved this job, but once l got married & we decided to start a family the extensive travelling was not really working with child care arrangements, hence the reason to quit & become a stay at home mum

Membership Club for 40,000 cyclists.

My job was to give members suggested cycling routes for both the UK and the World based on their interests and abilities. I spend many a happy hour looking at maps and finding points of interest.

Contact was made by them either coming into our offices or through the mail.

Had to check the sales forces paperwork and get the data ready to generate personal policies. An eye for detail was required.

Employed by working parents to look after their 3 year old son.

Taught him to skate and play soccer as well as helping with his education.

Loved travelling round Canada, taking in the sights.

Tore ligaments in leg and decided to come back to UK for medical treatment.

Started as a Saturday job then went full time when deciding what to do after education finished.
