At Hinkley my focus as a welding supervisor is overseeing crital welding operations , ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards and Safety Standards.
Also ensuring all welding consumable control protocols are carried out to RCC-M Standards for the requirements for installation by welding of mechanical pressure systems and other components to the balance of Nuclear Island (BNI) and balance of plant (BOP) during construction of the pressurised water reactor (PWR) Nuclear power plant(NNP).
I monitor all welding activities relating to welding personnel,Starting with WPS's along with welders qualifications and production planning,Materials,consumables, welding plant and inspection before , during & after each weld.
I compile work packs consisting of a weld procedure, weld card and isometric if applicaple and on completion they are submitted to QA and logged .
I Also ensure calibration and maintenace of welding plant, LEV's and Pyrometers and that all welding personnel are signed onto all relevant documentation before commencement of work activities .

Duties generally include carrying out Boiler repairs and planned maintenance/outages which includes the manufacturing and installation of first and second stage super heater pendants , evaporators & economiser pipework , super heater and furnace pipework using TIG welding processes and MAG/ SMAW on membrane .
