Summary

I started my career in the hotel industry before moving into the education sector eleven years ago. For the past six years I have managed a facilities team of six and a catering team of twenty. I manage maintenance and resources budgets in excess of £400,000 and always deliver an efficient service. My key achievements have been build/refurbishment projects including: £400k refurbishment of two floors of standard bedrooms to executive suites at the Chamberlain Hotel, Digbeth £18 million complete hotel renovation from obsolete BT tower resulting in 450 bedrooms plus dining and conference facilities (Jurys Inn, Broad Street) Project-managed (client side) £23.5 million new build/refurbishment of academy including a value engineering process due to asbestos issues (Shelfield Academy, Walsall) Due to the excellent working relationship between contractor and academy during the build process, we were passported £800k to deliver the FF&E. Through careful sourcing and negotiation, I saved £250k from the original quotes provided as part of the project. I was awarded the Outstanding Performance Award for Health and Safety 2017 from a national contractor for the high standards of H&S I have maintained in my workplace.
