  • Reporting to the Joint Venture Project Controls Director and Commercial Director, I have been responsible for managing the commercial delivery of the design phase of the M4 Smart Motorway Programme, projected contract value £48m
  • Working with the Change Manager and liaising with Discipline Leads to produce Compensation Events
  • Analysing spend profiles in line with the cumulative forecast for the Joint Venture
  • Production and agreement of monthly Applications for Payment and weekly cost management process
  • Negotiation and agreement of disputed cost items with Highways England’s Commercial Assurance contractor
  • In addition to the general responsibilities to the contract, I also took on the role of Oracle Project Manager for Arcadis, generally my duties included:
  • Production of monthly Project Review for the Commercial and Operations Director detailing current/projected financial/programme performance
  • Agreeing resourcing requirements with the wider project team and resource planners

  • Reporting to the Programme Director, I was responsible for the commercial delivery of two projects: the Airport Line (construction contract value of circa £260m) and the Second City Crossing (projected construction contract value is circa £80m)
  • Interpretation of the Contract and providing Commercial administration and advice to the Senior Management Team and TfGM’s board of directors, ensuring the needs of the client are managed whilst project controls and internal governance are strictly adhered to
  • Advising the Senior Management Team on cost plans, spend profiles and budget control on all aspects of the programmed works outside my direct remit of the Construction works
  • This also included providing assessment and analytical trends for the entire programme of works
  • Management of the Design & Construct Contractor, including but not limited to assessing the validity of the Contractor’s Changes, Compensation Events and Re-Measures in line with the provisions of the Contract, negotiation and final valuation
  • Advising on future risks to the Contract through regular Quantitative Risk Assessment workshops
