During my time at LTF I have undertaken a lot of roles before I became Factory Supervisor, this gave me good understanding of the different areas around the factory and has enabled me to undertake my current role efficiently.

My current duties include -

  • Making sure all lines had enough work and never run out.
  • Managing workforce
  • Chasing manufacturing information from Co-Ordinator's
  • Making sure jobs left the factory in enough time to load
  • Keeping Excel sheets up to date with manufactured numbers
  • Interviewed and recruited staff with required skills and background.
  • Led toolbox talks and motivated teams to achieve daily production targets.
  • Maintained clean, organised working areas to create positive, productive environments with minimal risk.

Carpentry apprentice

I joined FHM as a Carpentry NVQ placement through college, I learnt many skills whilst working closely with the main carpenter on site. The site was based in Telford and would need to start work at 6:30am - 5pm.

My duties included :

  • Assisting carpenters in everyday carpentry tasks such as Roofing, Skirting/Architrave, Kitchens, Fitting doors, Flooring
  • Keeping site and work areas clean and tidy
  • Towards the end of my NVQ I went on to assist other trades around the site, to include Groundworks, Bricklaying and Plumbing
