This included the construction of the CDM compound, site fencing, site CCTV installation, road construction, piling and table construction, module installation, cable trenching, and cable installation.LV, MV and HV.   • Refurbishment of 2 number 1,000,000 litre, jet aviation fuel tanks. Installation of new deep drainage system to each bund. Connected through to the terminal interceptor. Major repairs to each jet fuel tank shell and complete NDT inspection of striker plates, manways and Davit arms All bases around both tanks were reduced and the external surfaces around annular by 55mm for re-surfacing in fibre concrete to new finished floor level. This involved large scale concrete cutting. Re-concreting of new aprons below all import and export pipe works re-profiling of all four internal traverses of each bund.
  • All pipe racks running through the fuel bunds required new steel supports and new concrete support trackways. The bund bases and travers were lined with a bentonite mat system to create hydro – carb protection in the event of any major environmental incident. The bentonite system was secure to the traverse using re-enforced steel anchor pins and anchors and large scale 300 CM , concrete pours to create large mass ground anchors at the top of each travers. The angle of each bund is 36% at height of 7.8M from finished floor level.
  • Site Civils supervisor, monitoring all site progress and maintaining all health and safety documentation. Setting all datums for shuttering and drainage excavations.

  • One of two contractors hired in by Amey on the CEFA contract to develop a library of access plans. The CEFA contract is ongoing and involves the examination and the reporting on the status of the structures on the Railway infrastructure I covered the additional structures given to CEFA on top of the original contract and also tunnels and Stations. Aspects of this work involved the creation of SSOWPS plans and the utilisation of possessions of the track and line blockages as required. During this time, I have completed the SSOWPS conversion.

  • During this period, I was employed doing strapping and hand signalling shifts through Wynnwith Engineering. I also did the track access planning role for the Frost Rover project where I created the SSOWPS plans that were used to use the on-track machine to keep the conductor rail free of ice during the winter.
  • I also did a SSOWPS planning role for East Croyden maintainer on the CORUS project where I booked the line blockages required to survey areas that would soon be required to be re-railed.

  • The Area Planning Managers department approves controls, coordinates and delivers both disruptive and non disruptive Infrastructure access requests for all Network Rail and outside parties for the Wessex region.
  • Working together with a much under resourced team and assisting them in processing and clearing a large backlog of information, preparing the published T2 block details for publication in the WON allowing Network Rail planners to get on top of their workload and firstly assisting then running the Green Zone Access co coordinators role allowing the Network Rail employee to train up an Isolation Planner.
  • Having had my Possession Planning System access and rights increased I had to learn how to check and prepare possession details ready for publication in the WON.
  • After a 2 week period of instruction I had to take over and run the green zone access co coordinators role for the Wessex region which is one of the largest regions in the country with in the region of 400 access requests per week
  • To ensure that with minimum supervision I was able to complete the required tasks in time for WON publication
  • To ensure that Green zone requests were vetted and processed in time for work to be completed.

  • The BAIU was a major project to deliver a new Signalling system between Pirbright junction, South cote junction, Worting junction and Salisbury Tunnel Junction in three stages. Including a new signal box at Basingstoke
  • Take over the Possessions manager role after the prior Possessions manager handed his notice in.
  • Undertake an urgent review of the entire project procedure for Possessions and to make some radical changes which had to be done very quickly.
  • Over a short period of time to regain the Clients (Major Projects and Investments Network Rail) confidence in the principal contractor.
  • Deliver a workable Possessions plan for the remainder of the project
  • To enter into discussion with South West Trains and come to an amicable agreement with them regarding the project requirements for non disruptive access to the infrastructure which maximised times and minimised disruption to passenger trains.
  • Develop the possessions plan, review and adjust as required against project requirements.
  • Ensure that the procedural timescales are adhered to and that all Possessions and renewals meetings are attended.
  • Ensure that the required worksite requests were put into PPS for the Project Rules of the Route possessions and also to enter non disruptive worksite requests in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with the Isolation planner with regards to the worksite limits and isolation requirements.
  • Record the details of the possessions and worksites and brief them out to the project.
  • Ensure that proper records are kept of all Possessions meetings.

  • As part of the Southern Region New Trains Programme this joint venture between Siemens and Amec Spie involved the delivery of state of the art HV Traction Power Supplies or Sub Stations plus associated Feeder Routes. These were to support the new trains supplied to replace the slam door trains being removed from service.
  • The Southern Region Power Supply Upgrade project was voted the best project delivery in the Railway for 2005 beating other projects like West Coast Main. It also achieved the best safety award for the same year.
  • Developed efficient RIMINI process and coordinated Possession planning.
  • Successfully managed the contract Labour Supply Chain to ensure timely delivery of all Project objectives.
  • The production of RIMINI plans for the site surveys and works for the Joint venture team and also for many of the sub contractors.
