Summary


Communication has been my career and passion for most of my working life; from one to one concept sharing to both artistic and corporate performance and presentations for large audiences, my goal has always been to inform, individuals and groups in ways that motivate and move them, engender deeper understanding and sympathy and align objectives.


I have created most forms of traditional and digital content as well as overseen programs, professionals and processes that deliver messaging in both efficient and thoughtful ways. Whilst the mantra of communicating effectively may be considered first and foremost the attempt to ensure that nobody misunderstands, in my work, I have always sought to move beyond simple clarity towards connection with those viewing and listening to content with language, style and media tailored to the needs and preferences of specific audience.


Having served as a Communications Director with a 35 year progressive career across both internal and external communications, I believe I can offer a valuable and relevant skillset as well as a committed and diligent work ethic that may prove to be a valuable addition to an organisation's leadership structure.

  • Developing and implementing editorial vision and strategy for the publication.
  • Managing and leading a predominantly external team of writers, editors, and other content creators.
  • Ensuring all content is accurate, well-researched, and consistent with the publication's tone and style.
  • Overseeing marketing and design, to ensure cohesive brand messaging.
  • Conduct online and face to face Interviews with industry experts.
  • Create podcasts that explain in depth financial and business concepts.
  • Monitoring and analysing metrics to assess the success of the publication's content and making data-driven decisions.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with industry experts, sources, and other stakeholders.
  • Staying current with industry trends and developments to inform editorial direction.
  • Review articles for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Determine readiness of written pieces, made changes, and approved final versions for publication.

I love presenting I teach Sunday School classes and often present firesides I always try to ensure they are engaging and incorporate audience participation and humour I look for the fun side of most situations and try to elicit smiles whenever I can

I have written a musical and staging it is one of my lifetime goals

I love to play piano and guitar, conduct choirs, sing, organise carol concerts and musical firesides Music is, in my opinion one of the highest forms of communication available to us

I have played 5-a-side football every week for more than 30 years I love all things football related and will be keen to play on even when the 20 and 30 somethings have had enough!

I love playing Uno, SkyJo Exploding Kittens, Spikeball, Kuub and Can-Jam with my family; also Carroms I truly believe I could have been a professional carroms player!
