I worked as a trainee Plumbing and Heating Engineer for 4 years, With various age and ability contractors as a mate which I was very grateful to get professional hands on experience just as starting out in working life.
I then proceeded to undertake contracts myself for MHM Plumbing and Heating. I was even Corgi Registered before it was made monitory several years later, Of course that rolled into ACOPS 1-5 and Gas Safe etc with all the various separate forms of Certification now current.
All work was for the likes Taylor Whimpey, Crest Nicholas, Redrow, McAlpine, Barratts, Bovis Homes etc.
By my mid 20s I was running 4 groups of six contractors placed on various sites and became a working foreman spending days with teams that needed support.
Daily activities would involve a early start delivering back up materials at short notice, supporting contractors and keep eye on quality/ output of teams, Undertake my own work as required, collaborating with site Agents on schedules and staff needs.
