Stephanie Soni

At Northwood High School, I serve as a Senior English and Business Studies Educator for Grades 10 to 12. In this role, I am responsible for planning and delivering engaging and differentiated English lessons aligned with national curriculum standards, with a focus on developing students’ critical reading, analytical writing, and communication skills in preparation for final examinations. I design and assess coursework, foster inclusive classroom discussions, and support individual learners to achieve their academic potential. Additionally, I contribute to the Business Studies curriculum by delivering dynamic lessons that build commercial awareness and critical thinking. My role includes regular collaboration with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and participation in the school’s wider academic and pastoral programmes.

At Queensburgh Girls High School, I taught Senior English to Grades 10 to 12, delivering literature and language lessons that supported both academic achievement and creative expression. I also led Senior and Junior Debating, fostering students’ critical thinking, public speaking, and collaborative skills through extracurricular coaching.

At New Forest High School, I taught Senior English across Grades 8 to 12, Business Studies (Grades 10 to 12), and Economic and Management Sciences (Grades 8 and 9), designing and delivering comprehensive lessons to support both academic success and holistic learning. As Administrative Head of Grade 12, I provided leadership and pastoral care for final-year students. I also contributed extensively to the school’s extracurricular life, managing first teams in badminton, basketball, and tennis. Additionally, I served as an NSC Business Studies marker in the June 2019 national examinations, further strengthening my assessment expertise.

At Mancosa (2017–2023), I served as an External Lecturer, Module Writer, Moderator, and Examiner for the PGCE and B.Ed. programmes. I developed and delivered modules in Academic English and Business Management, designed and moderated examinations, and facilitated lectures on a part-time basis. This role enhanced my skills in curriculum design, academic assessment, and higher education teaching.

As an Assessor at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (2010–2011), I evaluated Teaching Practice 120 and Educational Studies 220 modules within the Bachelor of Education programme. My responsibilities included the detailed assessment of student teaching performance and the marking of examination scripts, contributing to academic quality assurance in teacher training.
