Covering letter

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my keen interest in the Electrical Maintenance Engineer position. As I approach the completion of my apprenticeship at Air Products, I have acquired significant practical experience in electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance, underpinned by achieving a BTEC L3 National Extended Certificate in Engineering and working towards a NVQ Level 3 Maintenance Engineering Electrical, and MOET Electrical Technician Certification through an apprenticeship which I am finishing in August.  For the NVQ, I studied units 001, 002, 003, 004, 011, 012, 013, 014 and 015.

Throughout my apprenticeship, I have consistently demonstrated the ability to swiftly identify and resolve complex electrical faults, effectively using diagnostic equipment to minimize operational downtime. My hands-on experience in adhering to strict health and safety standards complements my technical skills, preparing me effectively for the demands of an electrical maintenance engineering role.

In addition, I have gained valuable exposure to CAD systems and technical drawings, developing a solid foundational understanding of how to interpret and produce basic engineering schematics relevant to maintenance and diagnostics.

I understand the importance of experience in this field, and I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to continue developing my expertise within your esteemed organization. I am committed to continuous learning, eager to gain further practical experience, and confident in my ability to contribute positively to your maintenance team’s efficiency and effectiveness.

Thank you very much for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of discussing my application in further detail.

Yours sincerely,

Stephanie Bowskill
