Work history

Building labourer

Radnor
Whitstable, Kent
06.2022 - Current

While partaking in occasional holiday work as a labourer, i am required to put a lot of hard work and physical labor in to digging, fitting pipes and frames, and tearing down walls. being new to the trade i had to stay attentive, constantly listening and learning new skills as they come. Additionally, i constantly maintain the cleanliness of the site to ensure safety of colleagues, and satisfaction for the customer, this would entail jobs like sweeping, cleaning, removal of waste, and putting tools away.

Waiter

The Beach Cafe
Whitstable, Kent
05.2023 - 04.2024

During my time working in a café, I learnt effective communication skills when taking orders and serving food to customers, providing excellent customer service with my strong social skills and capabilities. Additionally, I was quick and efficient at washing dishes, utensils, and pots in a fast-paced kitchen environment, where I displayed hard work and good organisational skills to maintain a clean and tidy workstation. In a café full of workers behind the till we would work cohesively to ensure orders are made efficiently, working well as a team.

Education

Diploma of Higher Education - Btec Extended Diploma

Herne Bay High School, Herne Bay
09.2023 - 06.2025

Recently I had to make the difficult decision whether to stay at my education or move to a different school following my GCSE results. In the end I decided to change schools, moving from a private school to a public school. Moving to the Herne Bay High School, Studying a BTEC level 3 extended diploma in sport. The results of this course can lead me into university, employment, and internships. Taking this course has boosted my ability to work independently, having been set with multiple assignments and tests, which I had to research and complete with a lot of independent work, this has also led my time management skills improving, as mentioned before I do the majority of the work independently having to meet deadlines. However, there is an additional element of teamwork and cohesiveness which has been brought into working with other students in my classroom that came with revising or helping to present work. When taking such a big step in changing schools, I believe it takes a lot of courage to take such a big step moving into a new environment, putting trust in others advice weather it would be a good decision to move.
