  • I have worked for Prospero Teaching Agency for 2 years and have been based in 2 primary school within that time. From April 2023 to July 2024 I was based in Goetre Primary in Merthyr as a learning support assistant. My role would be to support children of all ages throughout the school with all aspects of their learning.
  • I am currently based at Gellifaelog Primary School doing the same role. I work along side the school teacher supporting children with their learning and wellbeing throughout their school day.

  • This support role involved me supporting children and families who chose to be home educated. I was based in an office completing daily admin tasks such as sending letters, emailing, organising family events, organising managers diary, collecting and entering data. I was also responsible for invoicing and completing payments as they came in.
  • As well as working in the Council offices, I would also go out into the community and visit the home educated families at home. I would regularly monitor their education and provide any support where necessary.

  • Working for Drive I supported people with learning disabilities and mental health within their own homes. I was responsible for administering medication, manual handling and personal care. I would prepare meals, complete finances and relevant paper work during my working day. As part of my role I would regularly help support the service users out in the community whether it be supporting them with their personal food shop, banking or attending activities and hobbies they enjoy. I supported them in all aspect in order to help them live normal, independent lives at home and in the wider community.

  • I worked in a busy and popular bar/restaurant located within the Brecon beacons. My primary role was to seat customers and discuss the menu with them in order that they could make informed choices, learn about special menu items or discuss food allergies, if appropriate. I would take their orders, ensuring 100 % accuracy and quickly relay them to the kitchen staff. I would routinely revisit all of the tables for which I had responsibility to ensure that customers were satisfied with their orders and to provide any additional items they may require. At the end of their meal I would process payment (cash and/or card) and ensure that customers had enjoyed a pleasant meal. I would then clear and clean the table ready for the next party to arrive.
