Job Responsibilities

  • Repair and Maintenance of sophisticated electronic/electromechanical medical devices in a range of clinical environments.
  • Carry out service, maintenance, updates and installation of medical equipment's.
  • Schedule service calls according to customer location and urgency of need.
  • Working with clinical users to diagnose faults with devices in hospital and clinical setting.
  • Carry out commissioning and acceptance testing on new medical equipment.
  • Identifies, specifies and orders spare parts and accessories.
  • Prioritize breakdown calls and preventive maintenance tasks using knowledge of clinical need, accessibility, loan equipment availability.
  • Maintains records of all maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform Software & Hardware Upgrades.
  • Provide out of hours technical service support.
  • Providing technical training to end users.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • To achieve departmental KPI 's for PPM, equipment downtime and response time.
  • Lifecycle management of of medical devices- Procurement, acceptance, support and decommissioning.
  • Coordinate with a specialised equipment supplier for AMC/ Warranty service.
  • Represent Biomedical Engineering in committees and other administrative meetings.
  • Hazard and field safety management of medical devices.
  • Monitoring regulatory compliance of medical devices.
  • Identify any opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of team processes.
  • Participation in department quality management system.
  • Investigates and write technical reports on equipment involved in clinical incidents.
  • Take part in project work as and when required.
  • Documentation as per JCI, ISO and CAP standards.
