I am a hardworking, enthusiastic individual and have completed a Higher education diploma in animal science. I also have volunteer experience at Hopefield Animal Sanctuary. My role at the sanctuary consisted of animal care duties to a variety of different farm, exotic, and small animals which has allowed me to gain valuable first-hand experience. The role also included regular interactions with the public through animal handling/educational experiences and pony grooming for the children. As part of my course at Writtle College, I also worked once a week on the animal unit caring for a wide range of animals. Previously, I was a carer for my mother, who suffered from Huntingtons' disease, until she passed away. My duties included medication administration, personal care, first aid, planning her days, accompanying her to hospital appointments, and liaising with medical staff. Losing my mother to the disease was the hardest period of my life, but it taught me to become more patient and empathetic with those around me. To live presently, and to always have hope. It also gave me the opportunity to provide care with compassion and dignity. As an individual I am honest, kind, and empathetic with an excellent work ethic allowing me to operate well on my own initiative, as well as being a strong team player. I have a passionate view of animal/human welfare and will always strive to provide the best possible care

My role at the sanctuary consisted of animal care duties to a variety of different farm, exotic and small animals, which has allowed me to develop my knowledge and confidence. This enabled me to observe and manage animals in a professional capacity, such as behaviour, welfare, training and husbandry techniques.
