Primarily managing day-to-day communications and triaging and booking patients on to a healthy-lifestyle project focused around nutrition and person-centred change. This project was in its inception when I began in post and I was involved in shaping many of our resources and processes.

  • Managed day-to-day communications with patients, healthcare practitioners, and shareholders, responding to queries in a professional, helpful and timely manner and escalating where appropriate.
  • Triaging patient referrals including reviewing medical records and having sensitive chats with patients and other healthcare professionals alike to ensure suitability.
  • Processing referrals from the point of referral to booking patients onto the course requiring excellent timekeeping, planning and organisation, attention-to-detail, friendly, professional communication with patients and the team, understanding of the course and health information as well as IT competency for utilising excel and a range of software.
  • Keeping our databases organised, understandable and GDPR compliant; including compiling useful signposting and supportive resources for patients and creating training documents and communication templates
  • Organising room bookings and translation or other support services.
  • Helping create termly reports for stakeholders and circulation including tracking and reporting on referral and attendance data, patient feedback and outcomes.
  • Recording meeting minutes and action points and distributing these.
  • Onboarding new team members and facilitating sessions.

Front-Of-House Café All-rounder

A summer role in a busy, vibrant, small café working both independently and in a team front-of-house depending on the day.

  • I was a keyholder to the business, opening and closing the café, keeping it organized, clean and well-presented, ensuring we had the needed stock for the day, that it was displayed in an appealing manner and doing temperature checks and cashing up at the end of the day.
  • I produced an array of beverages from coffees and smoothies to cold-infusion teas and cocktails to a consistent high-standard in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keeping track of and ordering stock as needed, including involvement in the selection of products such as our milks, and our displays (we frequently had local artists work for sale).
  • Able to work well both independently and in a team, I prioritize and communicate effectively, keep calm under pressure, always support my team where possible and prioritize providing a friendly, warm, hospitable service.
  • Providing a warm atmosphere and building good relationships with customers and regulars.

Nursery Practitioner Temp

In this role I worked with the preschool children and at the afterschool club providing a nurturing environment and running sessions day-to-day. I was the key worker for some children with higher support needs due to my strengths in attunement and care and I helped organize and lead a variety of sessions for the children’s enjoyment and development. I worked with my colleagues to organize a timetable to improve the nursery experience for us all and led and designed many sessions involving all sorts of activities from cooking and arts and crafts, to reading, sports and being outside in the forest school. I learned a lot about the preschool curriculum and childhood development and worked hard to contribute well to the overall experience of the nursery.

In this role my working week was split between working FOH the first half of the week and BOH towards the end.

  • I received in-house barista training, food safety and handling training and training in COSHH.
  • I worked with a variety of dairy and vegan milks and developed good barista skills producing a variety of beverages.
  • I was a key-holder to the business, opening and closing the café most days and keeping track of stock.
  • We had many regulars in this café which I built some lovely relationships with.
  • Kept up-to-date knowledge about menu items, guiding customers with care. I was given some freedom to make my own soups and baked goods.
  • I maintained a clean, organised work area, this is something I take pride in in hospitality.
  • Collaborated well with other team members during peak hours for smooth operations.

Outdoor Activity Instructor and Centre Assistant

Leading groups of key stage two children through a variety of outdoor adventure sessions at a residential centre, including canoeing, climbing, archery and escape rooms to nurture their confidence, provide them with fun, expansive experiences, and build their friendships, teamworking and interest and love of the outdoors.

  • I completed numerous additional training in this role including a variety of instructor awards and Makaton so I could work well with signing children.
  • I also worked as support staff helping with the day-to-day running of the centre supporting with housekeeping and food preparation and the running of mealtimes.
  • I volunteered for the green team and the wellbeing team which involved gardening around the centre and I made small day-to-day changes such as placing boardgames and teas in the staffing area.
