Sophia Whittam

For my Year 10 work experience, I secured a place with Rolls-Royce in their procurement team for a week, where I learnt how to take notes in meetings and how their business runs behind the scenes. I also visited their suppliers and had a tour around their flight operations centre. This placement taught me how to be confident in a new environment as well as being independent and self efficient.

I previously worked on two catering vans which attended markets across derbyshire. I was responsible for taking orders making sure the amount was accurate, as well as preparing food for customers. I dealt with busy environments which helped me to learn how to work under pressure and efficiently made sure customers were receiving their orders correctly.
