• Responsible for the proper handling and endorsement of specimens.
• Ensure completeness of sponges, blades, needles and instruments before, during and after the procedure.
• Receives patients’ endorsement from the Ward, CCU and CICU
• Validates and prepares patient’s chart and all the necessary documents needed for the surgery.
• Counts and checks accountable items like sponges, instruments, packs and needles with the scrub nurse.
• Responsible for the proper documentation and transfer the patient to the Recovery Room or other units and hands off the patient accordingly.
