Solomon Njoku

MCD is where I started my healthcare career. I support individuals/clients with learning disabilities, PWS, including challenging behaviour, to undertake everyday activities and functions. During my time, I've worked through COVID-19 & transitioned clients post-COVID. My extensive time at MCD has enabled me to work in several roles at the company and to progress into leadership and management roles. I currently hold a deputy manager position after my stint as a senior support worker. My Role of service delivery Lead entails supporting the Registered Manager in providing leadership to the administration, care, catering, housekeeping, clerical duties and maintenance functions of the service.

• Care Assistant to various clients' employers. With the training acquired, I can work in multiple roles to deliver enhanced care work and complex care, assisting registered nurses and other healthcare professionals with person-centred care for clients. Some of my training includes Smith-Magenis syndrome, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Airway Management, Motor Neurone Disease, Bowel Care and Management, Safeguarding Adults & Children, Catheter Care, Enteral Feeding (PEG), End of Life Care, and many more.

• I established a self-employed business, gaining valuable experience and skills that allowed me to work part-time while pursuing my studies. Throughout this period, I honed my interpersonal skills and mastered relationship management, enabling me to effectively maintain a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Worked efficiently under pressure during busy periods, maintaining consistent quality of service.
