I am nearing the completion of my Level 5 qualification in my current role and preparing to schedule my EPA. I plan to take this on in my next setting. I am eager to apply my new skills and advance my childcare career. As a dedicated early years education professional, I have broad knowledge in basic literacy and numeracy instruction, child safety, and cognitive development strategies. I maintain a patient and calm demeanour while encouraging children’s independence through play-based and creative learning. My skills include phonics instruction, multilingual storytelling, and implementing positive discipline, which supports effective parent-teacher collaboration and smooth transitions to school. I am committed to safeguarding practices and behavioural modelling to foster child engagement and stimulate imagination.
During this job, I began my Level 5 childcare management course and am now preparing for my EPA, which is very exciting. I’ve truly enjoyed my time in this setting, especially expanding my knowledge while working with professionals like speech therapists and developmental paediatricians. Throughout the course, I’ve enhanced my understanding of child development, education, and management. I look forward to completing this course and applying my knowledge to advance my childcare career.
This, together with my other seasonal work, helped me grow in ways I hadn’t before in my childcare experience. I enjoyed taking children on outdoor adventures, building snowmen, snowboarding, sledging, ice skating, and having cosy afternoons playing games. During summer, I taught them to paddleboard, kayak, and enjoy pool games. These jobs taught me to assess risks, allow children to take safe risks, and understand the learning benefits of exploring the real world while maintaining their daily routines.
During the pandemic, I enjoyed working for this family and appreciating the beautiful countryside they lived in. I cared for children aged 3 and 7, and I provided homeschooling for the eldest during the homeschooling period.
Holiday nannying during non-term time while training for my degree, travelling with various families and caring for children aged 1 to 11.
