My key strengths are in my people skills and my ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. I thrive on helping others and in supporting them to achieve their goals and resolve their problems, so it is important to me that I work in a sector that enables this.

Within my career, I have worked with young people (aged 4-11 years) as well as elderly and vulnerable adults and my working within a military environment, including overseas, has helped me to understand many different cultures and nationalities. This all enables me to connect, empathise and communicate with people from all walks of life.

My core values revolve around honesty, openness, and accountability. I work well within a team, and as an individual to achieve targets and meet goals. I am an optimistic, positive person with an appreciation of life, and I thrive on new challenges.

  • Reason for leaving - The Personal Lines of the organisation that I am employed in, is ceasing. My employer has wanted to retain me and have missed the earlier waves of redundancy, but I will face redundancy in November 2026 when the business closes.
  • I have really enjoyed this role, and the positive impact hybrid working has had in my life.

Hobbies & Interests

  • Travelling - I am a very keen traveller, having travelled extensively through Europe whilst living in Germany for over six years.
  • Reading - I always have a few books on the go: I enjoy fictional books especially when the protagonist overcomes challenges and obstacles. As a curious person I also enjoy non-fictional books and autobiographies.
  • Swimming - I swim at least twice a week.
  • Football Supporter - Prior to relocating to Lincolnshire, I actively supported my local football team Stockport County. I now support them from afar and go to matches where possible. A great experience was watching them in the play offs at Wembley last year. They have been promoted in recent years, but I have been a loyal fan for many years, even when they were in the lower leagues.
  • Charity work - Along with my wire-haired dachshund Bernie, we raised money for 'Stand Up To Cancer' with the Walkies Challenge.
