Furniture Designer & Maker

Self Employed
Reading, Berkshire
01.2002 - 04.2022

Over many years, I have designed and created outstanding luxury commissions for clients in private and public sectors, I pride myself on attention to detail, superb hand-built quality and product finish.

Having my own business has meant that I have had to wear a number of different hats, I have had to learn quickly and get things right first time. I was responsible for my own diary, customer meetings, on site surveys, translation of information into working drawings, selection of materials and techniques, construction and installation of projects. In addition to this I manage my work pipeline, cash flow, advertising and machine maintenance.

I am confident and precise with my designs and measurements, which will always be backed up by extensive site visit to gain information and asses any potential issues. I would discuss specific design elements with customers and introduce ideas that could be beneficial. Having great understanding of how something will be constructed is a huge advantage in design processes which enables me to communicate clearly to customers.

Being friendly, professional and approachable is extremely important when you are invited into clients homes, I am courteous, respectful, engaging and enthusiastic. I am a good listener and happy to discuss design elements in a knowledgeable way.
