
I am a motivated and creative school leaver who has recently completed GCSEs and I am now eager to gain experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.I have good communication skills and wish to develop these skills further in the workplace.I am motivated to work and am eager to develop new skills and to work as a part of a team.
This role requires me to work as a Childcare assistant during the school holiday / half term periods. As part of the program for disadvantaged children, I work closely with the primary aged children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), supporting their participation in activities and ensuring their safety and well-being. I assisted in planning and running creative and educational activities, helping the children engage, learn, and have fun. The role also involved regular communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on their children’s progress and addressing any concerns, while collaborating with the team to maintain a positive and organised environment throughout the program.
During my work experience at Walkers Pharmacy I assisted in the dispensing of prescriptions to ensure customer satisfaction and customer safety:this required me to display high organisation skills as I thoroughly checked every prescription and refined and signed off medication.Furthermore,I enhanced efficiency by organising medication shelves according to categories and expiry dates,as a way of promoting safety for the customer but also a way of helping the pharmacists as there is a clear order and organised system.I provided excellent customer service, resulting in satisfied customers highlighting my ability to communicate well with the public.
At Dolce Desserts, I worked as part of a mobile dessert team, preparing and serving a variety of desserts such as waffles and milkshakes at public events. I engaged directly with customers, taking orders and ensuring a high-quality, enjoyable experience. The role required hands-on work in a fast-paced environment, including setting up, managing service, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. I also collaborated closely with a teammate to manage supplies, restock ingredients, and ensure smooth operation throughout each event.
I worked at Mighty Flames Jamaican Takeaway, where I developed strong customer-service and communication skills while handling orders, assisting customers, and working in a fast-paced environment. I gained experience in food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, operating the till and collaborating effectively with the kitchen team. This role strengthened my ability to stay organised, multitask, and perform well under pressure while doing everything in my power to go above and beyond for every customers needs.
I gained my first experience in catering by working at family and friend events across Birmingham,where I developed strong waiting-staff skills, including serving food and drinks, setting up and clearing tables, and ensuring guests were well looked after. This role helped me build confidence in customer service, attention to detail, and working efficiently in busy, fast-paced environments while maintaining a professional and friendly attitude.
