Summary

I am a Project Manager, leading on a variety of workstreams to transform care pathways for patients with neurological conditions, increasing access to high quality care closer to home. My previous experiences outlined below has enabled me to understand differing population health needs. This led to successes in delivering transformative and innovative projects in a range of health and social care settings across England. This skill set would be transferred in undertaking complex and high-profile projects in a senior role.

Work history

Neurosciences Service Transformation Project Manager

NHS England
London
04.2022 - Current
  • I lead a Task and Finish Group to improve Multiple Sclerosis patient's access to disease modifying therapies closer to home. I was responsible for identifying barriers to access, then proposing alternative models such as a networked approach between specialist centres and local hospitals.
  • I have collaborated with senior clinicians on the development of a ‘neurosurgery metrics tool’ for use by the regional neurosurgery networks. These metrics apply to five ‘recovery high impact changes’ such as flow improvements and theatre productivity. This has helped the networks to prioritise workstreams within neurosurgery and to share good practice.

Women's Prisons Review Project Support Officer

NHS England
London
08.2021 - 03.2022
  • I took minutes for several task and finish groups to identify key challenges and gaps in health and social care across the 12 women’s prisons, as well as identifying opportunities to improve services through understanding good practice at other prisons. This included gaining feedback from women lived experience advisors and other key stakeholders such as governors and prison healthcare staff.
  • I organised a ‘what good looks like’ mapping event for women spending their first month in prison, facilitating workshops to identify opportunities for transformation. This helped to develop recommendations for the final report, facilitating improved health and wellbeing throughout the system.

Primary Care Commissioning Officer

NHS England
Chippenham , Wiltshire
05.2020 - 08.2021
  • I am managed several dental practice contracts, supporting the essential contract management that was required for the smooth running of the practices.
  • I managed the ‘individual funding requests’ process with a clinical expert panel. These are requests for treatment which aren’t typically available on the NHS, but they can be funded through the NHS on an exceptional basis. This led to patient who may have experienced dental trauma to receive excellent dental care.

Health and Justice Administrator

NHS England
Chippenham , Wiltshire
04.2019 - 04.2020
  • I organised multiple conferences across the South West and South East, collaborating with health and social care professionals, governors, commissioners and lived experience advisors, to understand the impact of prison reconfiguration on health and social care. I led group workshops, stimulating collaborative problem solving and encouraging the development of SMART action plans to facilitate the efficient and smooth implementation of generated solutions.
  • I helped to develop a ‘readiness checklist’, which gave a detailed insight into the resources required for providers to be prepared for the changes in their prison. This led to a comprehensive information analysis and evaluation of funding requests. I also visited the healthcare centres in prisons to engage with Heads of Healthcare to understand the prisoner’s health and social care needs in detail. Consequently, this led to the development of a successful business case for over £660,000 of funding for telemedicine, improved mental health and substance misuse services, allowing for innovative improvements.
