Summary

I am looking at a career change as I have come to the time in my life where I have reached my full potential working in nurseries as I have been working in them for years and progressed from relife staff up to deputy manger. I am also relocating from Anglesey to the Conwy area in North Wales due to relationship reasons.

I am a very reliable and trustworthy individual and I am always punctual and organized. I show initiative, have a positive attitude, enthusiastic and keen to learn new skills.

I am not scared of a challenge as i have worked hard for 10 years to get to the managerial position i am at now. I am always looking to find new ways to better myself and to challenge myself.

I have great team leadership, planning and organizational skills that i have built up during my carer. I meet with CIW Inspectors, social services, health and safety inspectors and safer guarding officers to make sure that everything is done to a high standard.

Nursery Manager

  • I am now based in the office and not hands on with the children.
  • I manage 22 staff and 91 children and their families.
  • I carry out supervisions and appraisals on staff to make sure they are doing everything that is required of them to make sure the nursery is running the way it should be.
  • We have now introduced the new curriculum to the nursery which started last year. Myself and the other deputy have rolled it out across the whole nursery and assisting staff when needed.
  • I sit in on Interviews with the nursery owner, I perform background checks, and go through the hiring and training appendix for new staff.
  • Assisted nursery owner with payroll, invoicing scheduling and cash deposits and receipts.
  • I do staff rota's, holidays bookings and covering sickness to make sure that all ratio's are covered.
  • I write up risk assessments across the whole nursery and ones that crop up such as if a child has broken their leg and is attending nursery, if a staff member is pregnant, if they are coming back to work after an operation etc.
  • I have meeting with safeguarding officers, social services and CIW inspectors etc.

  • The owner of Meithrinfa Ser Bach has now branched out and is now opening children's shops around North Wales so as her Deputy manager of the nursery i help to set all of this up . She has 1 based in the nursery, 5 based in different locations and shops online.
