During my time at Costa Coffee, I have learned many skills. I developed my interpersonal skills with both colleagues and members of the public, maintaining relationships while also remaining professional and delivering exceptional service to customers for their enjoyment and comfort. In a fast paced environment, I was able to collaborate with team members during busy periods serving over 100 customers a day, improving workflow efficiency and maintaining good quality products. I was able to constantly implement hygiene standards throughout café premises for public health safety compliance and was responsible for the training of new staff members on café operations, fostering teamwork and consistency. Having been given more responsibility, I was entrusted to handle cash and perform some managerial activities including placing and receiving orders and making shift schedules for my team.
While working at the restaurant, I was able to perform to a high standard and execute orders accurately and quickly to improve customer satisfaction. I worked well with my team, ensuring I was there to support where needed. I started out as a food runner, and went on to showcase more confidence with customers. I demonstrated excellent multitasking abilities, being able to prepare and serve food and drinks. I maintained a clean and organized dining are for the customers, performing quickly to keep up with the rapid environment.
I had two weeks' work experience, organized to fulfill requirements of my school, and I chose to work at Costa Coffee. While working there, I gained a lot of confidence in talking to customers and being in professional and adult conditions. I was trained to serve customers confidently, and serve food to the required standard. As I was so young, my main roles were to maintain the cleanliness of the customers space and move at a pace that allowed quick turnaround for my team. I showed up on time, even on the early mornings, and worked at the same rate as staff to make certain their days ran smoothly.
