Work history

Mechanical engineer

Ferguson Marine
Port Glasgow, Inverclyde
08.2022 - Current

Over the course of my three year apprenticeship with Ferguson Marine, I have developed a strong range of practical and technical engineering skills through hands on involvement in shipbuilding and propulsion system installation. I have gained valuable experience in the fields of assembly, alignment, and maintenance of main engines, shaftlines, gearboxes and bearings, as well as exposure to hydraulic systems and the outfitting of a wide variety of ancillary plant equipment. My training has enhanced my ability to interpret complex technical drawings and work precisely to tight tolerances. This experience has strengthened my confidence in performing high quality mechanical work in a demanding industrial setting.
