I have had a lot of personal experience within the recovery field. Also I was in active addiction for 38 years. I am now 3 years 8 months into my recovery. I entered rehab in July 2022 and left October 2022. After leaving Rehab I became a Service User Rep for Inclusion. I also volunteered at the rehab centre where previously resided. Then proceeded to volunteering within the service shadowing the Criminal Justice team within prisons and Police stations. I also have personal experience of being in prison myself during my active addiction. I believe this will enable me to help others due my lived experiences. During my recovery I have set up a Cocaine Anonymous meeting within my local area due to there not being one available. I have set up groups within my local drug and alcohol service. I believe I have a lot to bring to this job and can use my range of experiences to improve client's chances of sustaining their recovery.
