Former Police Officer with over five years of frontline experience, bringing a strong foundation in problem-solving, communication, decision-making, teamwork, and active listening. These transferable skills have supported my successful transition into local government, where I continue to grow professionally and expand my knowledge base.
Currently employed as a Housing Solutions Officer at Gateshead Council, I work to prevent homelessness by assessing and interviewing clients to identify appropriate support pathways. I collaborate with both internal departments and external partners to secure the best possible outcomes for individuals and families in need. Managing a caseload of approximately 60 active cases, I am responsible for maintaining accurate records, monitoring case progression, and making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. This role demands a high level of organisation, time management, empathy, and collaborative working.
Alongside my professional role, I am studying part-time with the Open University for a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and am approaching the end of my second year.
