Summary

I am a enthusiastic, compassionate, effective communicator and a great team member. I have been a registered nurse for a year, 4months and started my role in a medical-surgical cardiology ward after qualifying. Before starting the role, I did complete my last 12 week clinical placement on this ward which enabled me be familiar with cardiology setting and also have a good professional relationship with my colleagues. Additionally, working on a ward setting with a caseload of eight to nine patients per nurse, and every patient having different cardiac conditions has greatly improved my clinical judgement and ability to adapt. Over the past year, I have had more hands on experience providing care to patients with Acute Congenital Heart Disease, arrythmia, heart failure, and post PCI recovery and patients who have had implantable cardiac devices.

Additionally, I have looked after patients prior to having open heart surgeries such as Bypass, Valve replacement and many others. With these variety of conditions, I have been able to learn how to communicate effectively, prioritize, and provide patient-centered care in a busy setting. I have aimed to provide evidence-based care to patients, provide emotional support, educating patients and families and always working with the multidisciplinary team. I also completed a cardiac module during my bachelors degree which really broadened my knowledge in cardiology.

I am interested in the role because it will enable me to continue delivering excellent patient care. I am eager to continue developing skills and knowledge in a supportive and progressive environment. I am open to learn new practices, using modern equipment and I adapt well to various clinical environments.

In my current role, I have taken charge in some shifts and coordinated care. Also, I have mentored students, supervised and shared my cardiology knowledge under Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for student supervision and assessment.

I am thrilled about this opportunity to continue putting my knowledge into practice , being part of your team and furthering my career in a specialist environment. I have good computer skills, I have completed mandatory trainings such as ILS, RACE and other trainings.
