Job overview
Duties included, making sure the building is clean and tidy, as well as getting items prepared for purchase.
Also printing out labels, prepping the deli section and assisting the manager during and after meetings.
Cleaning out the stock room and disposing of expired products.
Lastly, it included listening and resolving any sort of issues & complaints customers had.
Experience gained: My time at Tesco Superstore was very rewarding and enjoyable.
I have acquired experience of working within a close-knit team, where the friendly working relationship helped create a happy and successful environment during the chaotic 9-5 periods.
With large queues of impatient customers waiting to have their shopping scanned and bagged, it proved essential to keep your sense of humor.
This became particularly important if you had a lack of staff causing major delays to the store timetable.
Perhaps the most crucial skill I have discovered, is that a smile and friendly greeting can defuse the frustration of even the most impatient customers.
In addition, the biggest skill I’ve developed, is having the ability to communicate with customers who understand very little English, as well as individuals with hearing and other disabilities.
