Within my current role I collaborate closely with other practitioners to create engaging lesson plans catered to different learning styles and prepare daily activity schedules that promote fun filled learning experiences for children. I also ensure a safe, nurturing environment for children through consistent supervision and careful monitoring of play areas whilst promoting inclusivity within the classroom using diverse teaching materials and practices. I have cultivated positive relationships with parents and carers; kept them informed about their child's achievements and areas for improvement through conducting regular parent-teacher meetings, fostering strong communication channels between nursery and home environments whilst maintaining detailed records of each child's progress, facilitating personalised care and learning plans.

As deputy manager of an afterschool/holiday club, i supported the day to day running of the setting, ensuring a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all children. i assisted in staff supervision, activity planning, and behaviour management, while maintaining strong communication with parents and the wider school team. i was responsible for upholding safeguarding procedures, supporting the manager with administrative duties such as risk assessments, and stepping up to lead in their absence. This role strengthened my leadership, organisation, and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced childcare environment.

As a disability support worker, i provided one to one care for a lady with cerebral palsy, supporting her with daily living tasks, personal care, mobility, and communication. i worked closely with her to promote independence, dignity, and quality of life, adapting my approach to meet individual needs and preferences. my role also involved administering medication, assisting with mealtime support, and facilitating social activities and community access. this position strengthened my ability to build trusting relationships, maintain confidentiality, and provide empathetic, person-centred care.
