Reliable Carer specialising in dementia and aged care. Promotes dignity and independence by collaborating on cleaning and cooking tasks. Holds strong hoist and mobility support knowledge.
I have also experienced a lot through the last couple of years. I am a survivor of severe domestic violence and would love to advocate for it and support people as I am a pure empath. My twin who was severely disabled with epilepsy, profound learning difficulties and cerebral palsy, he sadly passed away in September 2023 very suddenly. Therefore I made the decision to study to eventually become a nurse or doctor. Specialising in Palliative Medicine. I am currently doing my Access to Higher Education Health and Social Care (FULL LEVEL 3) which includes Sociology, Psychology and Biology due to finish at the end of March. In September I am doing my foundation degree in Health and Social Care (LEVEL 5)
I have 13 years experience in both Elderly care and special needs care.
This includes high knowledge of dementia and Parkinson's due to my nan suffering with dementia for 10 years until she passed. I was heavily involved in both their lives as I did as much as I could to help my mum. Dementia and Special Needs has and will always be a big part of my life. It is so rewarding and I couldn't imagine a better job to be doing. Not only do I have a lot of personal experience I have a lot of professional experience, over 10 years I've worked in 3 care homes and 1 Residential School for Children with Special Needs
I think I would be an asset and I would find it such a privilege to join a care team and get back to doing what I love most.
I can do this whilst studying and when not studying. Up to 50 hours a week is doable for me. Mainly Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays due to transportation.
