I was born and raised in Wolverhampton in a broken home, i was kept home from school most of the time by my father due to needing help at home, my education at the time was sketchy due to missing so much time at school, so i suffered academically at a young age, but it never discouraged me from learning, whether it be from visits to the library or helping at my uncles scrapyard.
I channelled my energies into learning about the operation of the internal combustion engine and engineering of motor vehicles, brake systems, gearboxes and drive trains, lighting and electrical and so forth, i found i could understand their operation and by making simple connections in my head i could also figure out other operations too.
After my school years were over i went to college to obtain my knowledge in paper form and use it to get into the industry, which i did successfully,
During these times, i met my wife and we have 2 amazing children together, my daughter is my best mate, we have an incredibly close relationship, i dedicate nearly all my free time to her as she has medium functioning autism so she requires a lot of care, she also has a real passion for trains, which is handy!
My son is an incredible musician studying for grade 6 and hes only 13 years old, i work a lot with him while hes learning as im also a musician myself, but he will easily surpass me in this field and i couldn't be more proud of him for it.
While i was in recovery for my shoulder i sought an easier job in bus driving, and came to find that not only was i really good at it but i really enjoyed it, i have a great rapport with the passengers and other members of staff and can probably safely say im one of the most popular drivers in Wolverhampton bus station. I've enjoyed my experience on the buses and i want to progress to the next step now, using all my knowledge of health and safety, respect and customer service to go into driving trains.
I have been driving various vehicles throughout my life in various stages, and I've always been good at understanding how they work mechanically and electrically, I've always enjoyed learning about engineering, from the age of 10, i disassembled and reassembled my first engine, with help of course, later i progressed to gearboxes, fuel systems, brakes etc
I found i was great at problem solving and had a mechanically inclined way of thinking and obtaining solutions, not just to engineering, but in all aspects of life in general
I've found that i have a deeper understanding of how vehicles operate and work gives me a deeper respect on how to drive them as i know how different operations have different tolerances, which impacts on the safety of the vehicle and its occupants
I've been driving buses for almost 10 years now and have a massive understanding of what work in the passenger carrying industry entails, from the paramounts of health and safety to ensuring passenger comfort and happiness, i have gained a great reputation and rapport with all my passengers and am often quoted as being "their favourite driver" due to my efficiency and reliability, (i always turn up and am 99% on time), im proud of the fact that i have always held a clean driving licence and have never received any penalties, due to adhering to rules and regulations of the road at all times
I have an unrivalled willingness to learn and understand new things and am quick to process the information given
