  • Company Overview: Triumph Mechanical Solutions is an operating company (Division) of Triumph Group comprising 7 strategic business units with multiple operating sites across the UK, Isle of Man, Europe and USA.
  • The role reports to the Divisional President. The purpose of the role is to develop a proactive quality & safety excellence culture and Business Improvement approach across all strategic business units. (Approvals: EASA 145, UK CAA 145, FAA, UK CAA 21G) Form 4 nominated authorised person.
  • Achievements:
  • Successfully delivered the quality & safety excellence strategy through a 3 year roadmap.
  • Achieved Integrated management system across AS9100, ISO45001 and ISO14001 approvals.
  • Transformed the Quality & Safety Management System into a comprehensive Business Management System through the alignment of the business to its core value streams. The approach was based on mapping of interlinked critical path processes across the value chain and a process maturity scale to prioritise improvement activity. This transformed the business
  • Applied risk mitigation approach to current programmes through retrospective application of PFMEA across organisation and supply chain thus reducing incoming /outgoing defects /non conformity by 80%

  • Key Achievements:
  • Established business excellence vision and delivered the strategy through a 3 year roadmap resulting in safe workplace, positive change in performance and customer satisfaction. A Zero defects / Right First Time approach resulting in 90% reduction in customer complaints/quality escapes and repeat quality issues.
  • Established an operational excellence strategy delivering a step change towards zero defects quality excellence approach resulting 30% increase in productivity and 95% reduction in rework.
  • Established industry wide best practise (according to BSI) through creation of a process based Business Management System utilising business value chain approach. Interlinked critical path ‘value add’ processes prioritised for improvement through a process maturity scale/performance metrics.
  • Established a continuous improvement framework based on cross-functional steering group, SLT sponsorship, focus groups, a ‘community of practice’ Functional Problem resolution champions. This initiative resulted in better cross functional involvement, achievement of ACE Silver Status.
