Bending Behaviours of Fibre Composite Structures With Damaged Skin

  • Investigated the bending behaviour of fibre composite sandwich structures with controlled skin damage (fibre breaks, matrix fractures, delamination) using three-point bending tests and FEA. Modified 3D models in SolidWorks to represent damaged and undamaged conditions accurately. Analyzed structural response under various loading conditions, including uniform pressure, concentrated moments, and triangular distributed loads. Findings highlighted the detrimental effects of skin damage, including reduced load-carrying capacity, altered stress distribution, and increased failure susceptibility.

IntelliBin (Group Project)
