• Managing full Exadata stack including hardware and software components. Patching and management of Exadata Components such as Compute Servers, Storage Servers, ROCE Network Switches and Power Distribution Units.
• Implementation of table partitioning and Hybrid Columnar Compression for storage-saving in Oracle 19c database, providing customer with optimal usage of existing storage.

Implementing Transparent Data Encryption, Fine Grained Auditing and defining standards for non-DBA database user access to ensure tightened security in Oracle. Created Powershell script to audit entire Environment against CIS Security Benchmarks for Oracle Databases.
• Management of security for SQL Server database, implementing server and database level auditing policies and Role Based Access Control to ensure hardened security for vital systems.
• Installation, configuration, support and patching of SQL Server single instances, SQL Server Always On High Availability Groups and SQL Replication, maintaining one of Ireland's largest SQL Server environments.
• Oracle and SQL Server backup policies. Using Oracle RMAN for backup and recovery processes to ensure Point in Time Recovery available. Implementation of Forever Incremental Backup strategy across Oracle estate.
• Performance tuning with Oracle AWR and ADDM reports and using Query Store for SQL Server, working with application developers to both create and tune indexes to maximise application performance.
• Management of Azure SQL and Azure Managed Instances databases, working with application teams to efficiently scale and utilitise cloud benefits to maximise application performance.
• Installation, patching and configuration of Oracle Enterprise Manager 13.4 on Red Hat Linux.
• Managing Junior DBA within the team, performing knowledge transfer sessions, managing career growth and performing performance reviews.
• Involved in the hiring of 3 Junior DBA's into the team, performing technical interviews encompassing several tiers of the hiring process.
• Member of 24/7 oncall rota.
