Work History

Civil Engineer

Burroughs
Cardiff
04.2022 - 04.2025
  • Despite being a graduate position, I was given a great deal of responsibility and opportunity for growth as a civil design engineer. I was responsible for delivering increasingly large projects, eventually reaching a point where I would manage and delegate tasks to junior members of the team, developing my project management and leadership skills. Specialising as a drainage engineer, I often be faced with challenging scenarios which would require me to think outside of the box, allowing me to hone my situational problem-solving skills.

Site Engineer

Knights Brown
Cardiff
01.2023 - 07.2023
  • In the form of a six-month secondment, I was given the opportunity to gain experience working on a construction site as a site engineer. I was responsible for directing ground workers and assisting by ensuring critical project tasks were completed. This job had a great deal of emphasis on problem solving and using critical thinking whilst on the move and under high pressure. This was without a doubt the most challenging but equally rewarding experience, allowing me to gain confidence by being thrown in the deep end.

Front of House

Saraztro (Greek Restaurant)
Cardiff
07.2021 - 10.2021
  • At this family run restaurant, providing friendly yet professional service was key. I would build rapport with our regular customers, striking up casual conversation (where appropriate) and providing a welcome environment. I was also expected to provide exemplary service during peak times, often waiting the whole restaurant (~ 20 tables) myself.

Sales Advisor

Office Shoes Swansea
Swansea
03.2019 - 06.2020
  • Customer interaction is at the core of Office’s ideology. Engaging with customers allowed me to cater to their more specific needs and create a more personalised experience. This, along with my extensive product knowledge, allowed me to offer the customers reliable alternatives when a requested product is out of stock. This is where my customer interaction skills were able to shine the most.

Barista

Starbucks
Swansea
06.2018 - 10.2018
  • Working as a barista on the high street of Swansea meant making high quality beverages in fast-paced environment, requiring dexterity and focus. Furthermore, time management was a must, often having to open by myself ensuring the shop was ready for business before 7am. Being welcoming and friendly to every customer is at the centre of Starbucks’ ethos, allowing to display my interpersonal skills and develop them even more.

Front of House

Meat @ 156 Restaurant
Cardiff
03.2017 - 07.2017
  • This was the second restaurant I had worked for during their grand opening. I was responsible for making sure the customers felt welcomed by a friendly environment not just in terms of friendliness but also in terms of cleanliness of the restaurant. Working here there were opportunities for me to demonstrate my ability to work well under pressure when there were many customers, by making sure every one of them felt satisfied.
