Currently working for RJC cleaning escalator's with 16 years experience

started as a site operative and have progressed to charge hand and then a SPC in the last 3 years I've been the Senior SPC. During this time I have undertaken work that is carried out on LUL tube stations maintaining the escalators used by the general public

As the SPC of an RJC gang my responsibilities each night is to ensure we work to the Safe Systems of Work instructions, making sure all colleagues are signed in on the picer, taking out the permit to enter, give a site briefing on the risks associated with the tasks ahead, isolating and locking off the escalator, placing engineers barriers to prevent access on the escalator

As a Senior SPC/Manager i have the task of looking after 3/4 gangs organising what gang is best suited each night at different sites, I liaise each week with the LUL planning team and then locate the gangs to site making sure they are confident with the job at hand. I also have to report to the owner of the company of any problems from other colleagues or issues with the Escalators

In some cases where there has been faults with the escalators e.g missing trailer wheels I have had to replace them, or the escalator would not inch ive had to open the cabinet to switch to Star delta/vf,

assisted L&E to replace tread sections of the steps

assisted Ndt/crack tester on my own testing the steps

Worked at Wickes building supplies part time at 16 while at college restocking shelfs and assisting customers then went full time once I had left college and these jobs included

-Health & Safety officer

-Training manager - ensuring all new starters had the correct training for the job involved

-Manager responsibilities making sure the store was open in the mornings ready for business and closed at night, dealing with customers complaints etc

-Organsing daily and weekly rotas

-As a supervisor on the shop floor had the responsibility of looking after 10 to 15 colleagues at a time
