  • Working at a busy container storage/transport terminal in Stourton, I started as a traffic planner, planning routes for HGV’s up and down the UK.
  • As my career progressed I moved into a yard role which I felt I was better suited for at the time, however at a later stage in my career with another hauliers I moved back into planning. I started doing surveys on damaged containers, ordering parts that were needed, doing stock control for parts, doing inspections on machinery, general yard duties.
  • After this is acquired my 7.5t FLT counterbalance licence, straight after I did my empty container handler ticket which enabled me to drive ECH lifters up to 44t.This became a main part of my job for just over a year.
  • After the closure of the yard at Stourton, I moved to Wakefield Europort rail terminal in Normanton and acquired my ticket to drive reach stackers.
  • Assisted in the smooth operation of the yard, ensuring it remained clean and organised.
  • Improved yard efficiency by conducting regular checks and maintenance on machinery.

  • As a Store Supervisor, my role was to ensure the shop was being run smoothly in many different areas.   • Due to my experience in running stock operations such as deliveries etc in my previous role, I was responsible for ensuring deliveries are done accurately and stock is in the right place, new lines are on the shop floor and merchandising. When required to do so, I was responsible for changing the wall flow so it suits the needs of the company and of customers such as having our best, top selling and newest stock in the correct place to ensure it maximises sales. Correct paperwork and accurate daily figures being sent via email to high ranking members of the company in the U.S, providing a summary of the daily activity in relation to sales and figures, suggesting different ideas to my District or Store Manager which could ensure a smoother running store was also a part of the daily routine. The security of the store and passwords and key codes for doors were very important as well as making sure the store is secure and alarmed at night and other people don’t have access to money or paperwork that Is in the safe.
  • As part of my Area of Responsibility training, I was in charge of generating sales In every way I can and working alongside management and staff to get this done effectively.
