As a Trainee I was tasked to assist with cost estimates.

• Researching materials and labor costs : I would help gather data on the cost of materials, equipment, and labor required for a project.
• Analyzing project specifications : I would review the project specification, technical drawings, and project scope to assist in calculating the resources needed.

After carrying out works as a trainee estimator I was promoted to an estimator where I gained more responsibility when preparing my own estimates

• Client Facing : I would attend site visits and client meetings to discuss the requirements of each cost estimate
• Bid Preparation : I would prepare and submit detailed bids or proposals to clients, often competing with other contractors for the job. These bids are based on their estimates of the project costs
• Post Bid : I would carry out hand overs with the projects. Negotiate costs with suppliers and sub contractors

As a senior/manager I overseen a small estimating team that varied from two admins and one estimator.

• Supervising Estimation Team : Leading and providing advice where possible to my team to complete estimates. I would also add my own input to other estimates after carrying out a review of the estimate my team were proposing to provide.
• Project negotiation: Interacting with clients to discuss project costs and provide details of our designs to each client.
