- I am currently employed as Shift Team Leader within the Vehicle refurb section at Pullman Rail.
- I am responsible for the supervision, health & safety, guidance and support of a team of skilled and semi-skilled tradesmen.
- Daily job duties are varied and depend on the assignment.
- My main function is to allocate duties accordingly and to supervise the general strip down and rebuild of train carriages
- I make sure that various parts are removed from the carriages and are ready for blast and repaint. If required, it is sometimes also necessary for these to be paletised and sent away for overhaul.
- I ensure that all the components that are removed are individually documented and all work carried out is completed to the highest standard and complies with the regulations that are set by the rail industry.
- I attend regular production meetings with other Team Leaders to discuss and share any progress, complications and deadlines.
- This position requires a mature and confident approach at all times. I have good interpersonal and communications skills and can demonstrate these at all levels. I have always been able to work closely with colleagues as part of a team but can also demonstrate initiative and am able to function and work independently when required.
