Summary

In February 24, I left a 31.5 year career with the Ministry of Defence Police, where I was employed as an Authorised Firearms Officer. During this career I have had the privilege of serving at various locations around the United Kingdom and have worked with a rich mix of people in various environments and operational and administrative arenas. I'd describe myself as a conscientious and professional person with extensive experience in managing people. I'm highly organised and have a thorough and precise approach to work, always providing excellent results. I am confident in my abilities and have learned various skills during my career, which might be difficult to replicate. I have however focussed the latter stages of my career to administrative work and this is ultimately one of my strong points. I am a competent all rounder when it comes to I.T. and I am very comfortable managing information, data and in writing reports with recommendations. I endeavour to provide a quality service to those that I deal with and look to build relationships as I go. I have an aptitude for continuous professional development and a desire to find a role which will harness that ethos; that said I am open to different roles and in a different working environment from that previously experienced. I like dealing with people and really enjoy those human interactions that make us what we are; I also like and appreciate the challenges that this can sometimes bring. I always look to maintain good relationships in a calm and measured way, built on trust, respect and tolerance and will always look for compromise, common ground and to de-conflict where possible. I take a methodical yet practical approach to my work but am cognizant of doing this within any set timescales and parameters, conscious of working within the framework of Standard Operational Procedures and Policies where appropriate. I am not afraid to make decisions but equally will seek direction when required; this is particularly so, when dealing with subject matter or areas of business that may be outwith my skillset or knowledge. I will always look to utilise the skills of the wider team and of those around me; and as such, can take direction accordingly. Looking forward, I would like to look at part time roles and I am open to new things and new challenges; keen to embrace this new chapter in my life.
