Erics Pride and prejudice was a comedy musical at the new Vic Theatre, Newcastle Under Lyme. All 9 cast members play instruments as well as act. I also had to dress up as a Gorilla!
Erics Italian Job was a musical comedy loosely based on both The Italian Job and The Great Train Robbery at The New Vic Theatre, newcastle Under lyme. All 9 cast had to act as well as playing their instrument. I played a bank robber as well as a Gorilla.
Dep Roger Taylor to Ash Wyder, filling in on shows/festivals when Ash is not available due to his other work commitments
The setting for this warm piece of theatrical nostalgia is Eric’s Club A Go Go, on a Saturday night, 1964. Written in 1989 by the Heather brothers it is in every sense a backward glance, both at a lost decade, and the pained pleasures of adolescent love. It describes a yawning gender chasm, and then invites a motley cabal of characters to trip themselves up, attempting to traverse it.
The band-The Sliced Tomatoes- are on stage during the whole show, in this Cavern style setting.
The Searchers had hits with Sweets for my Sweet, Needles and Pins, Love Potion Number 9, Sugar and Spice, Goodbye my Love and When you walk in the room, in the 60s.
I replaced Eddie Rothe in February 2010, joining original members John McNally, Frank Allen and Spencer James.
The band usually played for 2hrs, except at festivals and on package tours (60s Gold tour, Sensational 60s)
We toured The World, playing packed venues in the UK (London Palladium, The 02, Royal Albert Hall, Glasgow Hydro, Theatre Royal Glasgow, Edingburgh Playhouse, to name a few) New York, las Vegas, Florida, Israel, Germany, Denmark, Finland, New Zealand, Australia, Spain, Holland.
The band retired in April 2019
Dep to Tony Bourke on the hit West end musical by Queen and Ben Elton, We Will Rock You.
Tony asked my to be 1 of his deps and being a big Queen fan, it was a very quick yes.
I was then auditioned by Roger Taylor and continued to be 1 of Tony’s deps till it closed in 2014 and to Rogers son, Rufus, on the touring version in 2009.
During the time, I played the show to packed audiences under both Mike Dixon and Stuart Morley as MDs.
The ‘pit' was a very talented band with Queen MD, Spike Edney, Neil Murray, Laurie Wiseman and Alan Darby, as well as Tony.
