  • In my current role I have worked very hard to get where I am.
  • I have strived to get through various qualifications such as my Level 3 TAQA Qualification and PTLLS to allow myself to get into the classroom and develop as a trainer.
  • This has granted me the opportunity to become relied upon as the go-to First Aid and Confined Space Instructor for the site.
  • I am also responsible for the delivery of Scottish Water Course such as Manual Handling and confined space awareness.
  • I am frequently involved in Health & Safety discussions with both my peers and management for the benefit of the site and course we deliver.
  • The other Role of my job is working as a member of a rescue team, this part of the job is invaluable as it allows me to connect with many different companies to gain valuable experience as well as great industry examples to further my H&S knowledge
  • As a member of a rescue team, I regularly practice my skills and practice what I preach when teaching courses
  • I do this by taking part in mock rescues where I often take a team lead role.
  • I have completed my Level 4 City & Guilds IQA award. As Internal quality assurance is a area I thoroughly enjoy
  • when completing Auditing duties I am responsible for ensuring all courses are taught to the required awarding body standard. I also complete desktop sampling duties to ensure Assessors are meeting their required standard and no learners are unfairly awarded qualifications.

  • My day-to-day job included running operations of the club with a member base of more than 3000, providing the customer with an excellent experience and promoting a positive work environment for staff.
  • I worked closely with the Club manager working on P&L and payroll to maximize profit while staffing an exceptionally busy club.
  • I frequently used various IT systems including Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams to produce work.
  • I also used Compliance Centre when dealing with club and hotel audits H&S Audits
  • These audits were conducted annually, and this was one of my key responsibilities to ensure that the club fully conformed
  • Audits were split into two parts for the club, one being a full health and safety audit, this checked the competency records of staff, the safety of the club, ensuring first aid stock was suitable and sufficient, their where no hazards present within the building.
  • the second part was a full Pool Plant Operations audit. This included an in-depth review of all policies, procedures and documents held on the pool and filtration systems along with a review of the plant rooms to ensure there was full compliance with proper safe chemical storage in line with COSHH regulations.
  • In this role I was the first point of contact with group fitness instructors as I dealt with their invoices and timetable to ensure the club meets the demand of its members.
  • I am responsible for all team members' well-being while at work but also handling any disciplinary procedures.
  • In this role I managed a team of 27 employees.
  • I was also a Duty Manager; this involves being a key point of contact in the hotel for unhappy guests or leading the fire team in the event of hotel evacuation.

  • I am confident and competent handling dangerous chemicals with my pool plant room duties, I effectively make Rota for the teams to ensure the club is covered.

  • I eagerly contribute towards the health and Safety of the club at all times by completing fire walks, ensuring chemical cupboards are locked, appropriate signage is displayed and all staff are competent.
