
Scott is a chartered offshore geotechnical engineer with over 15 years’ experience. Scott has extensive experience in cable burial and protection works with involvement in over 50 cables projects during his career. Experience ranges from route assessments to engineering design and support of new equipment design and design modifications. Scott has an extensive knowledge of burial and protection methods and working knowledge of the range of equipment currently in the market. Scott is also experienced in FEED, offshore site investigation management and the installation of subsea flowlines, umbilical’s and cables. Involvement in FEED in relation to oil and gas developments (shallow and piled foundations, pipelines and umbilicals) and numerous offshore windfarm developments. Experienced in many aspects of offshore geotechnics including; development of site investigation strategies, site characterization, foundation design, pile design, drivability studies and pipeline / cable route design and assessments for export, interconnector and infield lines / cables. Scott has acted as engineering technical lead for research and development in relation to geotechnics, working closely with academic institutes.
Extensive cable burial and protection experience across all phases from consenting and tendering to pre-construction and offshore execution
Highly competent in route assessments; BAS, CBRA, SRI design, post-burial risk assessment, various engineering assessments relating to cable installation, burial and protection
Support to design of new burial assests and development of existing equipment
Extensive offshore experience gained in offshore installation/construction and trenching operations as a lead engineer and as a client engineering representative
Experience of managing a team of engineers delivering a wide variety of subsea scopes;
Experience in oil and gas and renewables, including; FEED, site characterization and determination of geotechnical design parameters, ground model development, foundation / pile design, drivability studies, site investigation, trenching risk and burial performance assessments;
Experience of scoping and managing offshore site surveys including OWF, pipeline and cable route surveys;
Experience in various aspects of offshore geotechnical design;
Competent in the use of industry software such as GIS, EIVA Navimodel, GRLWEAP, LPile, Plaxis;
Excellent technical writing skills including design reports, engineering studies & trenching / cable burial risk assessments;
Ability to lead project campaigns onshore and offshore, with experience gained offshore with subsea installation and trenching contractors and engineering consultancies;
